When we develop a website for a client, we normally continue to host that website afterwards, so that we can effectively provide our follow-up support. We do also sometimes take over the hosting for WordPress websites built by other agencies, subject to them meeting our build standards.
If your website is built in WordPress, and you would like us to take over the hosting, we would firstly ask for access to the back end of the site so that we can check the build quality. Sometimes websites are so badly built that they are hard to maintain and fix, and in those cases we would normally recommend a rebuild.
Assuming your website meets our quality standards, we offer two hosting packages as standard – the difference between them is purely the number of included support hours.
Both packages include:
The Business package (which is adequate for most brochure sites) is £250+VAT per annum and includes 3 hours‘ support and training per year.
The Enterprise package (which is appropriate for larger or e-commerce sites) is £500+VAT per annum and includes 8 hours‘ support and training per year.
‘Support’ includes any assistance with the website that does not include writing additional code to add functionality to the site – this would need to be quoted for separately. We turn around 90% of all support requests the same day.
Clients who need more than the above hours to accommodate their support requirements can also purchase pre-paid ‘blocks of hours’. The advantage of this arrangement is that if a job only takes 5 minutes, we only deduct 5 minutes from the pre-paid block – without the block of hours, we would have a minimum charge of one hour.
