A Shropshire company well known for providing specialist pregnancy scans has re-launched its medical scanning service after teaming up with another county business to create a new-look website.
Shrewsbury-based Babyvision has joined up with Ascendancy Internet Marketing in Shifnal to help revamp the website for its sister company Scan Ultra. Owner and ultrasonographer Ruth Finch has also taken on a new member of staff to help grow the business, which was originally launched in 2009 to provide a general medical scanning service to patients.
She said: “We have been working with Helen Culshaw at Ascendancy Internet Marketing in Shifnal to redesign the website and this has just gone live. “It was very important for us to get the website right as it is very much our shop window for the range of services we offer.
“We needed a quality design to reflect the professionalism of the service we offer and Helen and the team have done a fantastic job.
“Ascendancy designed the Babyvision website for us so it made sense to get them back on board to help us re-launch Scan Ultra.
“They know the business and what we do and whilst we wanted a different website for Scan Ultra we wanted it to have some synergy with Babyvision and they have achieved this for us.”
The medical scanning services offered by Scan Ultra can be used to diagnose a a range of medical conditions such as gallstones, aneurysms, ovarian cysts and polycystic ovaries. Mrs Finch said: “The medical climate is very different to back in 2009 and NHS waiting times for general medical scans are getting longer.
“It felt like the right time to re-launch Scan Ultra and push this side of the business.
“We can save patients an anxious wait by getting the scans done much quicker.”
As well as the new website Scan Ultra have also recruited sonographer Jo Long. “Jo has a wealth of experience in ultrasound and is extremely professional,” said Mrs Finch.
“She currently works for the NHS in Shropshire but we previously worked together at Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
“Having her on board means we are now in a position to take on more patients.”
Patients can either self-refer to Scan Ultra or ask their doctor to be referred.
