A Shifnal based web agency is helping to promote Shropshire businesses far and wide after playing a major role in redesigning a portfolio of regional news websites.
Ascendancy, on Victoria Road, recently relaunched the new-look Midlands Business News website and its sister titles East Midlands Business News and East of England Business News.
The project, which resulted in the websites being given a fresh and modern new look, was led by Ascendancy’s managing director Helen Culshaw. She said: “We were quite familiar with the Business News group of websites having had a number of our business articles featured on the site.
“So, when managing director Wendy Carter approached us for help redesigning the portfolio we were delighted to assist.
“The websites provide a fantastic platform for businesses large and small across Shropshire to promote their successes and achievements to the rest of the Midlands region.
“It has been an extremely interesting and challenging project to work on and in terms of the number of pages involved in the website build probably one of the largest we’ve managed.
“Migration of the sites was a huge project, with over 60,000 pages needing to be integrated into the new design. Each month, the Business News portfolio of websites which features business news from across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire and further afield, attracts more than 20,000 visits to its sites. This figure is set to increase in 2016, with the new look websites playing a key role in driving up viewings.
Wendy said: “We wanted to give the sites a new fresh, modern look. “As we have so much news content being added each day, a key consideration was the ease of navigation around the sites along with the search and selection of content.
“A lot of time and research went into the performance and SEO development of the sites. “We are delighted with the finished sites and the team at Ascendancy were a pleasure to work with, feedback from our readers has been very positive.”
