A new community website has been launched for people living in Shifnal.
The site www.shifnal.org has been designed by Ascendancy, which has its office on Victoria Road, and is sponsored by the Shifnal Business Forum.
It features town news, information on events, a business directory and a picture gallery. The site was officially launched by Ascendancy’s managing director Helen Culshaw at the Shifnal Showcase earlier this month with a children’s drawing competition.
Ms Culshaw said: “It’s great for Shifnal to have a dedicated website. We think it’s a first for the town and we and the forum really want it to be the first place people look for news, events and information about local businesses.
“So many people use their mobile phones these days to access information on the go so we have made sure the website is mobile friendly.
“It has been really great working on a project for the town and we hope the community will enjoy using the site and find it useful.”
The Shifnal Showcase, which was held to coincide with National Independents Day – a day that recognises the strength of its own independent high street shops – was an open air business expo, showcasing members of the Shifnal Business Forum.
