A Shropshire internet marketing firm has celebrated its 10th year in business with birthday cake and a party fit for a 10-year-old. As well as putting on a feast of party food favourites Ascendancy, which held its big birthday bash at Patshull Park Hotel on 26th March, also provided an eclectic mix of party games for its guests including Scalextric and giant Jenga. Managing director Helen Culshaw said: “It was a fantastic celebration and we are grateful to all our guests for helping us mark such a major milestone in the company’s history. “We have worked with many businesses and organisations here in Shropshire and further afield over the last decade so this was a fantastic opportunity to share our success with them. “I think they all enjoyed the party food, and the games certainly brought out the inner child in all our guests.” Ascendancy, which is based in Shifnal and has worked with an A-list of clients including Shropshire Council, Acas, the NHS, Telford & Wrekin Council and Care UK, provides businesses with a complete website design and development service. It also specialises in digital marketing services such as search engine optimisation, Google AdWords management, email marketing and Google Analytics consultancy. Ms Culshaw, a trained teacher and lecturer, also runs training courses for businesses in conjunction with Shropshire Chamber of Commerce. The 40-year-old businesswoman founded Ascendancy 10 years ago after deciding she wanted to work for herself to further her successful career in digital marketing. Over the years, the company has grown steadily and gone from strength to strength. January saw the company double its workforce with the recruitment of an administrator and two new executives to meet the firm’s growing demand for internet marketing services and the remainder of 2014 is likely to be just as exciting with Ms Culshaw heading up plans for the firm’s continued expansion. “It is a really is an exciting time for the business,” said Ms Culshaw. “We have had a great start to 2014 and we hope the rest of the year will prove just as successful. The business and our team is growing all the time and over the next few months the focus will be on expanding our web design team.
