I joined Ascendancy after my first year of sixth form after developing a strong passion for digital marketing and deciding to pursue it as a career and so far, I’ve really enjoyed it. Everyone has been extremely welcoming from the beginning, which made the transition into working life much easier.
The majority of my first month has been spent learning many new things about digital marketing, but I feel like I have picked up the majority of what I have learnt quite quickly and find it really enjoyable expanding my knowledge. Before I began my apprenticeship, I was already writing some of my own blogs as a hobby of mine, but it has been really interesting to learn about the more technical side of blogging and SEO to use it as a way of marketing a company. Something that I have learnt quite recently is how to create landing pages, which I have loved doing as it allows me to be creative with both the layout and written content. This is one thing that I am really hoping to improve as I have only had a small amount of practice.
As an introduction to digital marketing, I have been learning the more general skills, focussing on both PPC, SEO, and a small introduction to social media advertising. I have done quite a bit of blog writing and search console research for blogs as part of search engine optimisation to help clients rank higher on Google. However, I have written a small amount of content for both landing pages and category pages, which I have learnt have different techniques. I have also enjoyed creating ads on Google Ads and learning about the technical side of ads to help them perform better for clients.
I am looking forward to my future at Ascendancy and learning much more about digital marketing as I grow in experience and confidence.
