- Your Job Title
Senior Digital Marketing Account Manager
- When did you join Ascendancy?
November 2017
- Tea or coffee?
No coffee here! I really want to like it but I just don’t…. Tea wise, I like a green or peppermint tea now and then, but the real hero is a Yorkshire tea whilst sitting at home with a book or the TV. Is there anything better? The answer is probably yes if you’re less boring than me.
- What is your favourite meal?
I’m not just going to come right out and say it’s a burger, it’s a very specific burger…Have you ever been to Beefy Boys? No? Google it. You will never eat a better burger in your life. (This is not an ad, although it would be great if they paid me in free burgers.)
- If you could be an animal, what would you be?
I couldn’t think of a good answer for this one, so I looked online and went with what I thought works for me, in my daily life as well as at my position in Ascendancy. ‘I think I’m most like a dolphin. Dolphins are intelligent and highly social and they’ve become known for their communication skills. My social skills make me a good fit in our team. I also have the communication skills to work well with many personalities and feel comfortable integrating myself into any group.’
- Do you prefer dogs or cats?
I keep changing my mind, generally, about whether I want a dog or a cat. At the moment I’m 100% cat, they can somewhat look after themselves and if you get a good one then you’re on to a winner, the only issue if you get stuck with an evil one, and that is my concern. 😂
- Who would play you in a movie?
I would say Hayley Atwell, because she is normally playing a strong bad-ass female character and I love a bit of Marvel, particularly Cap & Peggy’s story, of course. The song when they finally get to dance together (if you know you know) was the song I walked down the aisle to, I love it that much.
- Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I’m pretty good at tap dancing (at least I used to be) having gone to lessons for more than 10 years! I did loads of shows over the years with my dance school which really helped my confidence going into adulthood.
- Any funny anecdotes you would like to share?
A few years ago, me, my mum and my aunty managed to get my 90 year old nan to London to see our favourite show in concert, Les Miserables. She LOVES Alfie Boe and if he was going to be there, so were we. It was the best night ever, we even went to find him and Michael Ball at the stage door afterwards.
- Why do you like working for Ascendancy?
I love that we’re a relatively small team, which means we know each other really well. This helps us in working together well as a team, not being afraid to ask for help from other members of the team, and we actually like spending time together (at least, I like spending time with them, ha!)
- What is your favourite part of your job?
As my job has evolved over the years, I love being able to liaise confidently with clients and to help train the new team members, even though I’ve worked here nearly 7 years now, it’s weird to not feel like the newbie. (or be the youngest!)
- Any secret talents?
Not so secret as I talk about it a lot in the office, but I’m in a choir, which brings me so much joy! I wouldn’t necessarily say that I have a talent for singing, but I love it! Especially having a hobby that takes me out of my comfort zone, and I do it with my Mum so it gives us more opportunity to do something fun together.
- What is your favourite thing about Shropshire?
I would probably say that Ironbridge & the bridge itself are so nearby. I grew up not too far away from it and went to school in Coalbrookdale so it’s a special place for me as even when not at school, we would spend a lot of time there when I was growing up. I think you can take something for granted when you see it all the time – so whenever I go and see the Ironbridge now, I think about what a spectacle it is and really try and take it in!
